Education

09/2007, PhD in Computational Mechanics, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore;

07/2001, Bachelor of Engineering in Ship and Offshore Structure Design, School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China.

Employment History

10/2010 – Present, Research Assistant Professor, the University of Western Australia (UWA), Australia;

03/2007 – 10/2010, Research Fellow, Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) at NUS, Singapore.

Research Interests

My previous research work was focusing on developing meshfree methods/extended FEM and their applications in various fields. The most important achievement is the development of Smoothed Point Interpolation Method (S-PIM) and the applications in static and dynamic analysis of solid mechanics problems, adaptive analysis, plate and shell structures and field problems (heat transfer and acoustic problems).

My current work is on conducting the ARC Discovery grant for the project "Towards Consistent Meshless Computational Framework for Soft Tissue Damage Modelling for Traumatic Injury Prevention and Surgery Simulation", which requires developing a nonlinear explicit dynamic meshfree algorithms for the numerical simulation of soft tissue damage process.

Hobbies

Playing tennis, soccer, badminton and other ball games;
